The General Overseer, G.O., of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch. A. Adeboye. celebrates his 81st birthday today. Adeboye became the GO of RCCG in 1981 and has since occupied the position for the last 41 years, overseeing the activities of the 71-year-old church.
Adeboye was born on the 2nd of March 1942 in Ifewara Osun state Nigeria. Asides from being the G.O. he is a Doctor of Applied Mathematics and is one of Newsweek’s Most Powerful people in the world.
The G.O. was ordained a pastor in the year 1977 and has since rose to the highest position in the church office. Adeboye initiated several worship programs in the church which include, Holy Ghost Service, Holy Ghost Congress, RCCG Conventions and many others. He has written over 60 books and won over 20 awards.
In recognition of his birthday, the RCCG commenced an 81-hour praise marathon on February 27, till March 2nd. The marathon was meant to thank God for the life of the celebrant and the Church as a whole.
At the time of reporting this event, several members of the RCCG and ministers of the gospel have taken to social media to celebrate the G.O., wishing upon him several blessings for his new year. Also in celebrating the life of the renowned minister of God, the Mount Zion Film Company in conjunction with the Solid Rock Foundation will be premiering its movie biography of Pastor Adeboye, Enoch, by March 2nd at noon.
Adeboye is married to Pastor Mrs Foluke Adeboye, and they are blessed with children and grandchildren.
